New Year's Eve Fireworks

UPDATE: 5:45 PM DECEMBER 31:

The fireworks for Thursday, Dec. 31, have been postponed due to high wind conditions.

The City of St. John’s New Year’s Eve fireworks display will occur at 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 1 over Quidi Vidi Lake.

Lane reductions and traffic detours, announced for Dec. 31, will now be in place Jan. 1.

All other City-hosted New Year’s Eve events are cancelled this year including gym activities, skating parties and the Countdown Celebration & DJ event at Quidi Vidi Lake.

Keeping COVID-19 guidelines in mind, the City recommends attendees remain in their vehicles to watch the fireworks. If exiting vehicles or walking to the site, wear a facemask and remain in your bubble with 6 feet physical distance from others.
